  • Sharing Blog Posts

Blogs are superpowers for your website if the posts are shared. This might be my soapbox but here we are again, friends. Adding a blog to your site enables search engines to help others find you based on information you might not have included in your website. However, this information can be related to your line of work and timely to trends in society. Some may not want to call the collections of articles a blog. The term blog may have a less than factual flavor. Many call their blog page a news page which may seem more professional. Guess what! Regardless of what we call the collection of articles, we have to let others know we created a new post. This can be accomplished by sharing to social media or business networking accounts. This act of sharing is very effective. An additional great way to share multiple posts at one time is by creating a newsletter that can be sent to all of your email contacts or a subset of contacts who might find the information helpful and interesting. Check out this newsletter sent recently by Marathon Electric. Perhaps you should create a newsletter as well? Let me know how I can help. Happy sharing! View the newsletter.

  • Intellectual Property and AI

Dream job. As a child, what was your dream job? What is your dream job today? Cashier. As an adult, I pondered why I wanted to be a cashier as a child and determined it was the tangible display of technological advances that I observed in the cash register. As a college graduate with a Finance major and Computer Science minor, I am still intrigued by technology and the financial impact it has. A Wall Street Journal article about Google integrating AI in Google search results peaked my interest due to the combination of technology and its financial impact. A portion of AI collected in a study by Google is generated from articles published online. The online publishers rely on Google search results for users to link to the publisher websites. Google relies on the information provided by the publishers to create AI. It will be interesting to see if publishers start charging for information collected and the impact it will have on the online publishing market.

  • SandiSites Presents: Dr. Josh – The Voice Of Behavioral Science

Dr. Joshua Klapow is a clinical psychologist and performance coach. He was named by Yahoo as one of the top 20 entrepreneurs to watch, and brings with his brand a unique blend of academic scientist, entrepreneurship and media correspondence. His partnership with SandiSites highlights how brand development and management can take the accomplishments of an organization and leverage those to have much greater impact. Dr. Josh approached SandiSites with a host of professional activities. As a licensed clinical psychologist and performance coach, Dr. Josh had a diversified portfolio of offerings that were often diluted by a lack of understanding of who he was, what he did and how his varied activities all supported a single theme. The Dr. Josh brand was developed in part through a dedicated SandiSites website that served as a hub for his clinical, professional, scientific, social media and mass media work. A unified theme was presented for Dr. Josh as the “voice of behavioral science” which allowed SandiSites to showcase him as a highly trained psychologist who was the “go to” for media, fast growth companies and high profile individuals looking to improve performance. The single “Dr. Josh” web hub showcased his weekly media appearances, his speaking engagements, and social media influence . Public demand called for creating a “Trending” page whereby subscribers could receive the latest articles, TV interviews, podcasts, or video posts that Dr. Josh was creating each week. His YouTube following and Instagram following were connected together in a single location allowing his followers from diverse social media avenues to come together to be exposed to all that Dr. Josh had to offer. Finally, because Dr. Josh is sought after media outlets, corporations, organizations and individuals for a variety of services, speaking and consultation work, we created a service request avenue so that individuals could communicate directly with him for specific offerings after reviewing his vast array of services. Dr. Josh has seen exponential growth in social media following and has become a niche influencer on Instagram. Media requests have gone up significantly with writers and journalists using the Trending Page to obtain story ideas for collaboration with Dr. Josh. Individuals seeking services are drawn in by the accessible free content that Dr. Josh offers every day, and then can easily connect with him confidentially for individual services. Our partnership with Dr. Josh has demonstrated the importance of web design and user experience in the development and communication of an impactful brand. • Shining Lights

“Hello, Joan” “Good to see you!” “JOAN!” These exclamations are what you might hear walking into an IMTA session with Joan Hawkins, founder and director of Cameo Model Management, as she is greeted by IMTA scouts. Joan helps modeling and acting students prepare professional presentation tools to get them noticed. From photo shoots, head shots, comp cards and portfolios to acting classes. Joan sets up acting and runway workshops taught by an impressive list of industry professionals from New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta with whom she has long standing relationships. The workshops prepare students to either compete at the annual January IMTA competition in Los Angeles, or to meet one-on-one with agents in New York or other markets. Cameo has models and actors working in New York, Los Angeles, Memphis, Atlanta, even Internationally in print and runway.  Check out Cameo's Success Stories page on the Cameo website. "Regardless of the hot topic of the day, we always talk about the importance of treating people with respect and kindness while finding an inner light to help them shine." What is IMTA? “The International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) is a professional association of the finest and most successful modeling and talent training centers in the world. Since 1987, IMTA has become the recognized leader in putting new faces in front of the people whose business it is to identify the next rising star or supermodel. An impressive, and constantly growing, list of people who were first seen at IMTA conventions are now seen in magazines, TV, movies and fashion shows.” – IMTA website. My friend, Joan Dogs, recipes, health, are some of the side topics Joan and I discussed while designing her website. No matter the hot topic of the day, we always talk about the importance of treating people with respect and kindness while finding an inner light to help them shine. While I worked in the technology industry for many years designing custom software solutions, Cameo was my first website to maintain as an entrepreneur. Luckily, I was treated as one of the models or actors in her agency. Joan saw the skill I was hiding and moved it into the spotlight. • Integrity

Growing up in a small town taught me the meaning of integrity. Yes, it was small! So small that my brother and I would visit the local pharmacy and the cashier would ask if he should put it on my father's tab. Of course! What a level of trust. What a great business model! What a great way to develop relationships with townspeople. Rebecca Sandidge is working together with individuals and companies to create a new web presence. • For Big Ed

Anyone who has donned full overall waders and stepped into the chilling waters of Oregon's Willamette River Valley knows the thrill of the catch. It was 1995 and I was leaving Chicago O'hare airport only to step on a red-eye from DFW to Oregon the next day after a tedious week of designing AcuPlant, a units of property computer system that would later be replaced by the new enterprise system: PeopleSoft. The knowledge of the figure eight of the fly rod flowing in less than twenty-four hours put my mind at ease. Look out onto the horizon. Cast. Reel. Growing up the daughter of an angler, one picks up on more than catching fish, setting trot lines and learning to tie hooks. It's a piece of the soul that gets put on the hook, knowing that the dancing bobber is more than a sign something is on your line. ======== 2016 on Lake Martin pier. School was out for Spring Break for my children. The sky was clear, the ducks were swimming and the sun was beginning to set. It was the perfect time for my daughter, her friends and I to fish before dark. I delighted in tying hooks on the girls' lines using a swivel to make changing hooks easier. Years ago, my brother stocked my Plano tackle box full of the necessities including nail clippers to cut the line, needle nose pliers to pinch the weights and of course Freeborn Enterprise jigs. Recalling the words of my late angler father, "use the local live bait to catch the big ones," I removed the jigs made from a buck's tail and put a bobber, a small weight, and a worm on my line. The worms were not bought from the wiggler worm lady in Wilton like Big Ed used to buy every Saturday morning on the way out to Bulldog Bend. Instead, these worms came from the shady gas station down on the main road, but I hoped they would do the trick. Cast. Reel. Cast. Wait... It was a familiar tug and a snap of the wrist setting the hook. I knew I had a big one. Reel. Reel. Reel. Reel. The jubilation of "I've got one" rang out of my mouth as the child who holds my personality and my daddy's eyes looked on with eagerness to take a selfie. It all came back to me and moved forward at the same time. Do we keep it? This would be nice and fresh for the fish fry on Saturday. Do we let it go? These were new words that I never considered on the bank of the Little Cahaba River. I inserted the stringer to keep it amid the girls' shrieks of protest only to feel the movement of the catfish as it gasped for life. I couldn't keep it. It was the big one that got away. Share your story and connect with others by adding a blog to your site. It really works! Rebecca Sandidge is working together with individuals and companies to create a new web presence.
